Reasons for Joining the Clan Irwin Association
Clan Irwin Events
We participate in other Scottish events, such as Tartan Day Parades and the Old Town Alexandria Scottish Day Parade and Christmas Walk. We have participated in the Christmas Walk for about 35 years, and we follow it up with a reception for our members and friends. Check our calendar to see where Clan you can meet with Clan Irvin Members!
Events CalendarHighland Games & Festivals
Our members participate at Highland Games and Festivals throughout the USA and Canada. Follow the link below to find where Games are being held and visit our EVENTS CALENDAR to see where Clan Irwin Association will have a tent. Some of us even compete in athletic events.
Scholarship Money
We provide scholarship money to those studying music or dance in furtherance of the Scottish culture. Scottish dancing, music and bagpipes are deeply rooted in Scottish culture and history and has evolved over time into several distinct styles. For dance, these include Highland dancing, ceilidh dancing, and Scottish country dancing.
Donate Here!Travel
We travel together to connect with our roots. Clan Irwin Association sponsors periodic tours of Scotland (and sometimes Ireland) that always feature stops at Drum Castle and Bonshaw Tower. These tours are usually every 2 - 3 years, although special occasions may call for more frequent tours. A recent tour focused on the 700th anniversary celebration of Drum Castle being granted to Clan Irvine in 1323. We were feted at a formal Regimental style dinner in the dining room at Drum Castle. Entertainment was provided by Pipers from the Gordon Highlanders Association Drums and Pipes.
