17th Annual Mid-Maryland Celtic Festival

May 13, 2017

Awesome Celtic rock and traditional bands, Pipe Bands, Scottish Dancing, Demonstrations, Highland Games with professional, amateur, and adaptive athletes competing!

This cultural heritage event provides our community with the unique opportunity to explore the rich culture and tradition that resulted from the movement of many Irish and Scottish immigrants to the United States. Visit the Celtic Nations without the hassle of travel!

Whether you are a first time visitor or returning, we welcome you! Our goal is to make your day at the Festival enjoyable!

Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games

May 5-7, 2017

There are lectures, workshops, children's games, photo contests, and so much more. The Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games may have started off small, but we are now one of the largest Scottish Gatherings in the nation.

About the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games at Maryville College:

East Tennessee's premier celebration of Scottish culture and history. Originally founded in 1981 as the Gatlinburg Scottish Festival and Games, they are one of the oldest Scottish Festivals in the country. In 2010, they established a new home in the City of Maryville on the grounds of historic Maryville College, home of "The Scots". You don't have to be Scottish in order to enjoy this unique Festival! Their location in the foothills of The Great Smoky Mountains is the perfect backdrop for you and your family to get a wee glimpse of Scotland -and to discover and appreciate the rich traditions and history of the Scottish and Scots-Irish settlers of our area.

About the Scottish Fest:

Scottish Fest is part of the United Scottish and is the oldest and largest festival of its kind in the Southern California area.  

The festival was established in 1932 and was called a Highland Games in the tradition of Scottish heritage.  The Highland Games started out as a small gathering in 1932 but as the years grew so was the Games to the point that by 1938 the Games were set-up in the Santa Monica Municipal Stadium. During 1941 to 1945 the Highland Games were not officially held due World War II.
